Dr. Adam Lapienis

Dr. Adam received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo, graduating with honours in 2012. He also holds a Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of Western Ontario. During his studies, Dr. Adam gained valuable experience working alongside glaucoma specialist Dr. Murray Fingeret at the St. Albans VA Medical Centre in New York City.

Having spent over a decade working at iSmile during his summers, Dr. Adam officially joined the practice as an optometrist in 2012. He is passionate about providing exceptional vision care and takes the time to educate patients about their eye health. In 2022, Dr. Adam embraced the opportunity to manage iSmile, collaborating closely with his father, Dr. Renis Lapienis.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Adam enjoys playing soccer and cherishing time with his wife and two children. He is also an avid traveler. If Dr. Adam appears familiar, it may be due to his extensive presence at iSmile over the years.

Dr. Renis Lapienis

Dr. Renis Lapienis founded the optometry team at iSmile Optometry in Brampton over 40 years ago. Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Lapienis has cultivated lasting relationships with his patients, providing quality eye care in a warm, family-oriented environment.

As a passionate and detail-oriented optometrist, Dr. Lapienis is committed to addressing all aspects of his patients’ vision health. He is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and is dedicated to ongoing education, frequently attending optometry seminars, workshops, and conventions.

He has held numerous positions with several optometry organizations, including assessor at the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo and fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). Dr. Lapienis has been on the board of the Vision Institute of Canada for 10 years, where he served as treasurer and president. He is also a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Lapienis enjoys playing bridge and billiards, exercising, traveling, and engaging in automotive projects and home repairs.

Dr. Hassan Qureshi

Dr. Hassan Qureshi graduated from the State University of New York in 1999, where he also completed a residency in ocular disease. Additionally, he received specialized hospital training in India the same year.

With over 20 years of experience at iSmile Optometry Centre, Dr. Qureshi has established a reputation for his expertise and commitment to high-quality vision care. He values the doctor-patient relationship and dedicates time to educate his patients about the importance of maintaining proper eye health. His particular interests include the prevention, detection, and treatment of ocular diseases.

Outside of his role in our Brampton optometry office, Dr. Qureshi enjoys traveling and playing basketball. He is also fluent in Urdu and Punjabi, allowing him to connect with a diverse range of patients.

Dr. Harjit Gill

Dr. Harjit Singh Gill earned his Doctor of Optometry in 2021 and his Bachelor of Science in 2017, both from the University of Waterloo. After eight years of academic training, he has returned to Brampton, his hometown, to provide high-quality eye care to his patients.

During his clerkship at various clinics in the Greater Toronto Area, Dr. Gill recognized the importance of educating patients about their eye conditions, fostering trust and strengthening the doctor-patient relationship. His areas of interest include primary eye care, dry eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, and other conditions.

In addition to his studies, Dr. Gill volunteered with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) as a Vision Mate, assisting visually impaired individuals with computer use, board games, office organization, and more.

Dr. Gill is fluent in Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi, making him accessible to a diverse patient base. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, or cruising in his Jeep.
