Astigmatism

Astigmatism

In a normal eye, the cornea is shaped like a sphere – perfectly round. In eyes affected by astigmatism however, the cornea is oblong – more like a football. This affects the way light is filtered into the eyes, causing blurriness and inability to focus vision.

To correct astigmatism, options include eyeglasses, specialized contact lenses, and sometimes laser eye surgery.

The dedicated staff at iSmile Optometry Centre in Brampton have many years of experience diagnosing and correcting a variety of eye conditions. If you think you have astigmatism and are looking for a Brampton optometrist, give us a call toll-free at 905-457-4700.
